Super Group finalized for Dallas Cup XXXVIII

That time of year again is fast approaching. Dallas Cup is near and once again the Super Group will be loaded with talented teams from across the world. Twelve squads from seven different countries will be on hand. The XXXVIIIth edition to be played April 9 - 16th promises drama and exciting soccer this year as well!

Three teams from Brazil will be coming to fight it out for the title as Fluminense, Cortiba FC and new side Red Bull Brasil will try to claim Brazil's third title in the past six tournaments. Red Bull Brasil is a relatively young club on the scene in Brazil, but they are making their mark in the youth ranks with the U20 side claiming tournament victories in Germany and the Netherlands. Of course Fluminense and Cortiba FC will once again bring teams worthy of the championship. Expect at least one of these three squads to make a Dallas Cup final appearance.

This year will mark the Super Group debut for a team from Israel as Macabbi Haifa will be attending. The team currently sits atop the U19 Elite Division in Israel so expect a quality side for sure! Oh, an we cannot overlook the confirmation that Manchester United will be sending their youths to the tournament.

Defending champions Everton FC from England will return to try to make it back to back Dallas Cup titles. It will be tough sledding with such a loaded Super Group this year. Also returning is Ryutu-Kezai from Japan. Last year they traveled to Dallas and made a fine showing winning two or their three Dallas Cup group matches.

Two strong sides from Mexico are confirmed as CF Monterrey and Tigres are heading north. It was a disappointing showing last year for the sides from south of the border. I'm sure they have their sights set on a better performance this time around. To battle their two rivals from Mexico will be two American sides. FC Dallas sends a team from their wildly successful youth program which swept both US Academy titles last year. Two other MLS teams are sending their academy teams as well Real Salt Lake and Toronto FC are heading to town.
