Dallas Cup U15 - Eintracht Frankfurt looking like favorites

To call this one a mismatch would be an understatement.  These young men from Germany are extremely talented and poor Orlando City were basically played off the pitch Monday in Dallas Cup U15 group play.

After blasting Dallas Texans 00 Sunday afternoon in their opener, Eintracht Frankfurt made short work of Orlando City who were playing their opening match of the week long tournament.  The goals came in bunches and Orlando City tended to make things pretty easy for their opponents insisting on forcing every goal kick short to a defender.  It was putting their back four under tremendous pressure and quite honestly the players were just not technically efficient enough to play out of trouble.

The result was easy attack after easy attack for the Germans.  If it weren't for the stellar play of OFC goalkeeper Aaron Smith the score would have been twice what it was as Smith turned away shot after shot.  When Orlando did get into the attack Alejandro Pereira and Mario Licor looked like they had potential.  If only the team would have given them more service rather than turning the ball over in their own third all day.

In two games Eintracht Frankfurt have definitely shown they will be a force to be reckoned with as Dallas Cup progresses this week.  Worst case they will only need a draw on Wednesday against Prepatec LA from Mexico to wrap up the group and advance to quarterfinal play.  It looks like their main competition would come from M‭exico side Tigres who will have the offensive power to put the Eintracht Frankfurt defense on full alert and are always in the Dallas Cup trophy mix.  The good thing is that if Tigres and Eintracht Frankfurt keep winning the two would not meet until next weekend's title match according to the brackets.
