US receives harsh World Cup 2014 draw with Ghana, Portugal, Germany

Welcome to the Group of Death.  Or at least one of the Groups of Death. The Americans were given a harsh draw for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.  The USA were placed in Group G along with European powers Germany.  They'll also face nemesis Ghana who have knocked the Americans from the two previous World Cups.  Sandwiched in the middle is a difficult test against superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.

Can the US navigate this group?  It is definitely going to be difficult that's for sure.  For starters, the US simply must take out Ghana.  Three points is almost a requirement.  From there go get something from Portugal and Germany and you might sneak through. Tough would be an understatement.

You will also get to see US coach Jurgen Klinsmann face off against his former country Germany.  The Americans can once again take on the roll as underdogs even though the coach said otherwise.

Despite the tough draw Klinsmann said "We are no underdogs.  All the nations deserve to be there.  If you want to get one day in the top ten you've got to start beating them."

June 16 Ghana
June 22 Portugal
June 26 Germany
