Christian Pulisic drives USA past Trinidad 4-0

Well my friends. The kid can play. Honestly I was a bit surprised last week then Jurgen Klinsmann gave Christian Pulisic the 10 jersey. I mean I can see a 17 year old wearing the 10 jersey on the U20s, but on the full national team? After Tuesday night it seems deserved. Christian Pulisic simply tore up Trinidad for 90 minutes driving the USA to a commanding 4-0 victory.

It wasn't always easy. Trinidad put up a fight and for the first half hour they looked the part of a team that already had a place in the Hex confirmed. But finally the darting runs and dangerous balls from Pulisic wore the visitors down.

A late opening half goal from Sacha Kljestan broke the stalemate. Before Kljestan's goal, Christian Pulisic was already causing problems looking incredibly dangerous from the left. Cutting inside and firing with his right foot he forced a smart save early on. Later in the half he looked sure to score only to see the ball come off the inside of both posts before narrowly missing.

Trinidad's resistance was broken with the last goal and the second half would see the Americans find the net three more times. Jozy Altidore would splash onto the scene after the break as he notched twice. First he received a ball just inside the area and spun his defender with a nice turn before slotting home. Later he would get on the end of a perfect low Pulisic cross to score from close range.

The US will need an active and healthy Jozy Altidore to be at their best in the coming Hex and qualify for Russia 2018. A rebound goal from Paul Arriola would make it 4-0 and a great night in Jacksonville as the US topped the qualifying group.

Next up comes the final round of Worl Cup qualifying with the Hexagonal. It will not be easy. All six of these teams can play and all six offer very difficult away matches. And to kick it off? None other than arch rivals Mexico. El Tri will come to the USA, most likely Colombus, Ohio, in November. Might as well kick things off running eh?
