FC Dallas rallies past Pachuca in Champions League semifinal

If this is high level CONCACAF Champions League soccer then please give me more! What a great night in Frisco, Texas as FC Dallas rallied past Pachuca in the opening leg of their semifinal matchup.

I guess you could say FCD was a bit naive to begin the match as they were clearly suprised by the composure and class of their opppnents from Liga MX.  Pachuca were calm in possession and bossed the ball in the early going.  It led to an early goal as Erick Aguirre beat Hernan Grana on the left wing and put a ball into the box from the end line.  The ball took a deflection and fell perfectly for Franco Jara who fired past Chris Seitz for the lead.

FC Dallas got their legs under them around the 15th minute and really took control of the match from there.  Late in the half Grana got down the right side and put in a nice cross.  Cristian Colman attacked the ball and Pachuca keeper Alfonso Blanco punched away.  The ball went to the late arriving Max Urruti who scored to even the match at the half.

After the break it was much the same. FC Dallas were on the front foot.  They looked to have taken the lead after the restart, but were judged to be just offside on the play.  The pressure would finally pay off in the 58th minute after Urruti earned a freekick from a dangerous position. Kellyn Acosta stepped up and curled a well placed ball past Blanco sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

Pachuca went on the attack from there forcing FCD keeper Seitz into a couple of late saves, but FC Dallas saw out the important victory.  They'll take the slim lead to Estadio Hidalgo on April 4.  Pachuca have the important away goal and will look to take the game to FC Dallas who will need to be smart enough to manage a difficult environment and advance to the final.
