Clint Dempsey tearing up MLS

Clint Dempsey is flat out on fire.  Great news for the Seattle Sounders and also great news for the United States National Team as the 2014 World Cup is only weeks away.

The Seattle Sounders are riding Dempsey's coat-tails up the MLS Western Conference standings as they now sit with a very solid 5-2-1 record after blasting the Colorado Rapids 4-1 Saturday at CenturyLink Field.  Clint Dempsey found the back of the net twice more to run his MLS leading total to 8 on the young season.

Pretty simply put, when Clint Dempsey is on he is the best player in the entire league.  He is ruthless in front of goal.

Earlier in the week US National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann spoke about the in form Dempsey crediting the hot start to his preseason loan to Fulham in the EPL.  "[I'm] very happy that Clint has picked up the rhythm and find his confidence and is part of almost every goal that Seattle scores. That’s really a good sign, it’s great for us going into the final weeks before we hit the preparation for the World Cup knowing that he’s building his confidence more and more and more," he said.

"And it’s due to his hard work that he put in for January, February, being at Fulham. It was not a successful time, but he built a foundation for the months afterward so he seems to now at the right time, at the right spot."
