World Cup 2014 - Where things stand after one Group match

Every team has a game under their belts now at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.  The hosts and Mexico battled to a very entertaining scoreless draw today to open the second round of group matches.  I thought Soccermogul would go through and give a quick thought on every team and every group just to get everybody ready for round 2!

Group A -
Brazil - a little chink in the armor?  A ton of pressure on them, but they still control the group with only Cameroon left.
Mexico - wonderful result today and four points in their pocket.  Only need a draw with Croatia to advance.
Croatia - hard done in the Brazil opener.  Going to need wins over Cameroon and Mexico to advance.  They have the talent to do that though.
Cameroon - look like the sacrificial lambs they were expected to be

Group B -
Netherlands - shocked the world with their blasting of Spain.  Need to take care of business against Australia to guarantee passage.
Spain - Ouch on game one.  The whole tourney now rests with Tuesday's Chile match.  They must win two to have any chance with their blown goal differential.
Chile - a draw against Spain would go a long way to their advancing
Australia - not much to see here other than Tim Cahill

Group C -
Colombia - earned their designation as group favorites by blasting Greece.  Too talented to be troubled in this group.
Ivory Coast - good rally against Japan should lend confidence.  Will Drogba start against Colombia?
Japan - couldn't close out the Ivory Coast after good start.  Must beat Greece to stay alive.
Greece - need to score goals to survive and they simply cannot.

Group D -
Italy - beat England in a match that was like watching paint dry.  Next up is surprising Costa Rica. Take the group with a win.
Costa Rica - perhaps the surprise of the entire opening round with their dismantling of Uruguay.  Can they trouble Italy? Doubtful.
Uruguay - one word. Disappointing.  Must beat England to have any hope.
England - see above.  Must beat Uruguay to have any hope.  Rooney taking tons of criticism.  How does he react?

Group E -
France - a classy performance to open.  Can take the group with a win over the Swiss on Friday.
Switzerland - a stunning rally that could propel them to bigger things. Next up France.
Ecuador - a crushing defeat that will be hard to bounce back from.
Honduras - outclassed by France.  Can they salvage some pride and steal a result somewhere?

Group F -
Argentina - nervy opening win.  Need to be better, but Messi on the scoresheet.
Nigeria - boring. Nothing else to say.
Iran - a good draw to open keeps them alive.
Bosnia - can still grab 2nd in this group by beating Iran and Nigeria.  Very possible.

Group G -
Germany - most complete performance from anyone so far.  Look to be serious contenders
United States - a gritty, gutty win, but will they have the legs to keep trucking after losing Altidore.  Michael Bradley has to be more of a factor and Dempsey has to overcome broken nose.
Portugal - almost dead after horrible showing against Germany.  Can turn things around by beating the US Sunday.
Ghana - in a big hole with Germany next.  Most likely a hole much to deep to dig out of.

Group  H -
Belgium - not the expected opening but still a good rally that could propel them to bigger things in Brazil.  A very friendly group should help.
Russia - avoided a bad result by rallying for a draw today.  Concerning, but two very winnable games ahead.
South Korea - not happy with the draw, but everything to play for still .
Algeria - almost pulled off the upset of the tourney.  Gritty but just not good enough.
