France loving their draw for the 2014 World Cup

It was almost over for the French.  Leaving the Ukraine down 2-0 on aggregate and staring down a situation that would see them missing out completely on Brazil 2014.  It all changed in the space of 90 minutes as they flipped the script totally.

Rallying in dazzling form past Ukraine in Paris sent the country into a frenzy.  They couldn't have done it in grander fashion.  When all was lost, they blasted back onto the scene.  And it seems that good fortune is smiling upon Les Bleus now.

France got the dream draw today in Brazil as they were placed in a group that they should be able to navigate for passage into the knockout phases.  Heck, they might even win the group.

The seeded team in Group E is arguably the weakest of the seeded squads in Switzerland.  A team that most would expect France to get points from.  But first they open Brazil 2014 with minnows Honduras.  Should be an easy three points to get off on the right foot.  With the confidence look out.

Then comes the match with Switzerland.  Once again, this is a game they should get points from.  Worse case France should be on at least four points from the opening two matches.  Very possibly six.

Les Bleus close group play with Ecuador.  Not a power by any means and another match France will be favored.  It is tough to call a team that has won only one match total in their past three major tournaments a favorite, but personally I see France taking the group.  Watch out for this squad in Brazil.  With players like Ribery and Benzema they might make a run.
