Manchester United - Rescue from Disaster....Almost

Was today to be the last straw?  How would first year boss David Moyes survive a failure at the hands of last place Fulham?

Fulham rolled into town and didn't even field their best eleven and still somehow managed to lead Manchester United for 70 minutes.  A 19th minute goal from Steven Sidwell provided the shock lead.  From there it was a major case of "park the bus" defending.

Meanwhile, Manchester United were squandering attack after attack.  A ridiculous 73% possession and a whopping 46 crosses produced no goals in the opening half.  Yes, that is over a cross per minute.

The second half was much the same.  Fulham bunkering and absorbing pressure.  Finally ManU broke through and two goals in the space of 90 seconds flipped the shoreline from an embarrassing defeat to a necessary three points.

A close range tap in from Robin Van Persie followed by a deflected shot from Michael Carrick turned frowns to cheers.

Things should be comfortable  from there though.  Wrong. The  good times were not to last though.  In the 94th minute of 95 Fulham struck sending shockeaves  through Old Trafford.  Darren Bent nodded home from close range to earn Fulham a valuable point in a 2-2 draw.

What happens to Moyes now?

The task gets much tougher though as they make the midweek trip to The Emirates where they'll face an Arsenal side looking to bounce back from their drubbing at Liverpool.
