Luis Suarez heading to Barcelona for $125 million

The biter is on the move!  Liverpool have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Barcelona for the transfer of Luis Suarez.  The amount is said to be 80 million euros or around $126 million dollars!

Good deal for Liverpool in my opinion as they offload Suarez who is serving a 4 month ban for biting Chiellini from Italy in their recent World Cup 2014 match.  Suarez was already disliked almost universally in the English Premier League even before this summer's World Cup.  Then during the last month he scored twice against the England national team and then had his biting incident.  Suarez would have been booed heartily everytime he took the field in England.  His time was certainly short there.  So Liverpool get a massive chunk of cash to strengthen the squad and unload trouble in Suarez.

The Uruguayan will be travelling to Barcelona next week for a medical, to sign his 5 year contract and to be officially presented to the media and fans.  Luis Suarez said: "I hope you can all understand why I have made this decision. This club did all they could to get me to stay, but playing and living in Spain, where my wife's family live, is a lifelong dream and ambition. I believe now the timing is right."

Liverpool released the following statement: "We would like to thank Luis for his contribution and the role he played in helping bring Champions League football back to Anfield. Everyone at Liverpool Football Club wishes Luis and his family well for the future."

Now Suarez will get his chance to bite Cristiano Ronaldo!
