English Premier League week 2 Preview

Isn't it just so nice to have the English Premier League back?  After a wonderfully entertaining opening weekend that saw Manchester City and Liverpool confirm their status as favorites let us take a look at what gameweek two has in store.

The Big Game -
Arsenal at Chelsea -  Big trouble for Arsenal and new boss Unai Emery as they face a tough test to try to not lose their opening two matches of the new season.  On the other hand, new Chelsea man Sarri can win over the fans by getting three points in this one.  Expect a wide open match and lots of goals.  Chelsea nips it in the end.
Chelsea wins it 3-1

Southampton at Everton - The Toffees spent a ton of money this offseason and need three points on home soil.  Southampton brings a stingy defense, but not a lot of threat in the attack.  Everton should have enough firepower to grab an important win.
Everton wins 2-0

Newcastle at Cardiff - A battle of a pair of teams expected to be in the bottom five.  Cardiff will be buzzing in their home opener. If Newcastle is to survive this season they need a result in this one.
Newcastle nips it 2-1

Wolves at Leicester - A very interesting matchup here.  Wolves showed some class in earning a draw with Everton and they have some offensive weapons for sure.  Leicester need a good showing at home after last week’s opening loss at Old Trafford.
Draw 1-1

Fulham visits Tottenham
Spurs grabbed a nice opening victory at Newcastle while Fulham flopped on home soil.  Simply put Tottenham is just too good for new boys Fulham.
Spurs win comfortably 3-0

Bournemouth at West Ham
If anyone needs a good result this weekend it is the Hammers.  They got run off the pitch at Anfield last weekend and to keep the fans on board this is a must win.  Expect Arnautovic to get it done with a pair of goals.
West Ham win 2-1

Watford visit Burnley
The EPLs best defense welcomes Watford.  Expect Burnley to smother their visitors and nip the goal in the 2nd half to win it.
Burnley wins 1-0

Huddersfield at Manchester City
Who did poor Huddersfield make mad to draw Chelsea and City to open the new season?  Manchester City will have to overcome the shock of the Kevin DeBruyne injury but they simply have too much talent.  Mahrez gets on the score sheet and City win easily 4-0

Manchester United at Brighton
A tricky fixture for Mourinho and friends.  A lack of focus can get them punished in this one.  Expect a shocker and I predict a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool at Crystal Palace
Do not sleep on this one!  Crystal Palace might just be the surprise of the EPL this season.  There will be goals in this one but Liverpool escapes in a wild one. Salah and Mane are too much.
Liverpool wins 4-2
