Wow not many could have seen this one coming.  Clint Dempsey to Tottenham.

All we have heard for weeks is how Dempsey was holding on for a Liverpool move.  Aston Villa came in the last few days, but word was Clint had no intentions of making a Villa move.  Sunderland also came calling.  Again, Dempsey was not overly interested.

Then on the last day of the transfer window Tottenham leaped into action.  Just days after landing Dempsey's Fulham teammate Moussa Dembele they grabbed Dempsey.  In less than a week the Spurs have grabbed Fulham's best two players. The transfer fee was $9.5 million and Clint Dempsey has penned a three year deal.

It has been a crazy week at White Hart Lane as players have been coming and going in droves.  On the way out have been Rafael Van Der Vaart to Hamburg, Luka Modric to Real Madrid, Danny Rose to Sunderland and Giovanni dos Santos heading to Real Mallorca.

They have made several promising signings.  Along with Dempsey and Dembele, arriving at White Hart Lane will be young French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris who is expected to be the long term replacement for the veteran Brad Friedel.  They also secured Adebayor's return Manchester City.
