Oh yes!  The Champions League semifinals are set and we get a monster matchup between Barcelona and Bayern Munich.  What a storyline here as former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola faces his old team. It will also mark the return of midfielder Thiago Alcantara who followed Guardiola from Spain to Bayern Munich in 2012.  The two will open in Barcelona with the return leg in Germany which could give Bayern a huge advantage.

"It is indeed special for me, but also Thiago and for my staff. Barcelona was our life," Pep Guardiola told his prematch news conference ahead of the weekend's Bundesliga match against Hertha Berlin. "There's nothing bad I can say about my old club. I have great respect for them and I will never forget this match and this experience."

Both squads have been rolling through the UCL knockout rounds so far destroying their quarterfinal opponents.  Barcelona crushed PSG 5-1 on aggregate while Bayern Munich ran wild over Porto 6-1 in their match Tuesday in a game that wasn't even that close.  High powered offenses will be on display so expect plenty of goals and wonderful attacking soccer!

The other Champions League semifinal matchup pits Serie A powers Juventus against Real Madrid.  The powerful Madrid attack against perhaps the best defense in the world of the Italians.  Juventus shut out Monaco over both matches in the quarterfinals. Which will win out?  Can Juventus shut down Ronaldo, Rodriguez and Bale?  Whatever happens the storylines are mouth watering and soccer fans across the world will be glued to their television sets.
